EchoStar, an international technology company with over a billion dollars in revenue, is recruiting top talent for a patent/intellectual property summer internship in our legal department. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide our interns with the opportunity to develop lasting skills in a challenging environment. This is your chance to learn about law from inside the business. Specifically, we seek a second-year law student who is enthusiastic and energetic; patent bar eligible and interested in a career in patent prosecution. During the summer, the intern will be provided the opportunity to work on various intellectual property projects under the supervision of the in-house IP attorneys, including drafting a patent application, patent prosecution, trademark prosecution and intellectual property licensing. You may also work with other practice groups with the Legal Department to assist with various legal issues that arise.
Applicants interested in working with our intellectual property group must have a degree in electrical engineering or computer science (or related field) and must be eligible to take the Patent Bar upon graduation.
Internships are ten weeks long and are located at our world headquarters in the Denver, Colorado area. Internships will be paid and interns may elect to participate in our housing program. Successful interns have received job offers upon graduation.
Please include your undergraduate and law school GPAs and your law school class rank on your resume. If you are selected to continue in the process after applying online, you will be asked to supply a cover letter, and undergraduate and law school transcripts.
