Move, Inc. (operator of has an opportunity for a Business Analyst within the Business Analysis & Optimization function, located in our San Jose, California office. 

Move is strategically focused on growing, engaging and monetizing its consumer audience thru and other consumer-facing websites and mobile applications.  We are seeking an individual who will help drive business analysis and optimization for our audience acquisition, engagement and monetization strategies in partnership with our key business stakeholders.  The Analyst will also develop standard weekly and monthly reporting, performance management dashboards and models, and conduct ad-hoc analysis of key opportunities for our business partners on the Product team. 

Candidates must possess a strong analytic foundation, preferably within a business-oriented role, a history of collaborating with cross-functional teams, as well as a proven track record of communicating data insights to a wide audience by facilitating clear and thoughtful analysis and reporting. 

The Analyst will analyze consumer behavior on web and mobile platforms and conduct ad-hoc analysis of key opportunities for our business partners in Product and Marketing. 


Performance Management

  • Analyze, measure, monitor, and prepare quantitative and qualitative reports on internal and external business performance
  • Analyze user behavior on web and mobile platforms for insights that will support product decisions
  • Update management on monthly and weekly performance models for monitoring and forecasting against budget (for and Rentals)

Business Analysis

  • Provide performance monitoring on consumer audience trends visitation, engagement, conversion as well as provide pre/post analysis on new and enhanced features after releases
  • Present insights and findings to Product Management and User Experience teams to deepen knowledge on consumer audience behavior
  • Understand the customer and market business process and help design better work flow
  • Prepare data-driven presentations for executives and external-facing parties


  • Partner with Product Management to track releases for new products and feature enhancements; supporting through quantitative and qualitative analysis

Experience and Skills

  • Educational Requirements: Undergraduate degree with focus in Economics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 3-years with hands-on experience to digital analytics, financial analysis, or systems analysis
  • Solid working knowledge of software applications for data analysis and presentation (i.e., MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL, etc.)
  • Some understanding of IS / IT methods and frameworks, tracking, and business information systems (BI software, Web Analytics software, Comscore, etc.)
  • Experience developing reports to for weekly tracking and translating information from quantitative data to a story
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint (graphing and presentation)
  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals in various functional areas and various levels of management
  • Ability to remain flexible and thrive in a fast-paced environment and new business processes and concepts
