On one hand we coordinate and maximise significant international and local client value commitment programmes. On the other, new trading models offer significant benefits for our clients and MEC. Our clients are more open than ever to exploring new media solutions (and new trading models) to address old marketing problems. Vision for the Latin American Pan Region trading team

Rather than completely take trading responsibilities away from client teams, we have put in place a small Latin America (LatAm) Pan Region trading team which works consultatively with client and LatAm Pan Region communications planning teams. We have tried to bring together people with different core skills. Typically these include digital and traditional media trading understanding, LatAm Pan Region deals, multi-market value management, understanding of different local trading landscapes, commercial skills, etc.

 

Objectives of the role

Monitor, measure and manage MEC LatAm Pan Region network’s buying performance on key accounts.

Provide ad-hoc trading support on other accounts and projects.

Coach and leverage MEC LatAm Pan Region team efforts to maximise incentive income stream.

Coach and leverage LatAm Pan Region team skills, knowledge and technical reporting capability to realise Value Creation as defined by clients and MEC LatAm Pan Region teams.

Take responsibility for efficient and progressive management of junior members of the trading team.

 

Key deliverables

Internally

  • Become an expert in the Client value creation, (VC) definition and reporting process
  • Work directly with local MEC teams to understand and identify value being driven through the negotiation process
  • Work directly with MEC LatAm Pan Region teams to understand and identify value being driven through the strategic/implementational planning process
  • Join client meetings and phone calls at which VC is a significant component.
  • Use all available resources to broaden and deepen understanding of your clients’ business in order to understand their needs and contribute to strategy investment development
  • Build relationships and collaborate with other client and specialist teams across MEC and especially MEC Global Solutions (GS) and MEC Global Trading Team.
  • Increase your financial and commercial awareness and ensure accuracy of timesheets for yourself to help monitor delivery against scope of work and client profitability
  • Manage own career development, attending all relevant internal training and reading and researching widely to ensure continuous learning
  • Seek projects outside immediate area of responsibility to broaden outlook and add value to company as a whole
  • Seek understanding of the legal and regulatory framework within which the company operates
  • Manage internal appraisal process for junior reports

 

Externally

  • Building close relationships with media owners, right holders and/or suppliers
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with 3rd party agencies and other specialist partners
  • Reflect MEC’s values across the network and when dealing with 3rd parties and clients
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Thorough understanding of industry and internal planning tools and processes (i.e. Navigator)

  • Client satisfaction, via formal and informal feedback
  • Feedback, both formal and informal from agency partners – internal MEC and external
  • Achievement of specific objectives, reviewed in annual appraisal
