Position Overview

The Research Director will develop solutions to address brand's strategic needs, i.e. in-depth understanding of the target prospect (consumer insights, consumer profiles, attitudes and behaviors, category drivers, differences and similarities between Hispanics and GM consumers, purchase pathway, etc.), media consumption and media relevancy (channel/program allocation, connection points), ROI analysis (historical and future trends), etc. He/she will provide day-to-day direction and support to the planning teams by overseeing the development and use of strategic and tactical planning theory, tools and approaches.  This includes the analysis of syndicated and proprietary tools and data resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on the implementation of research into agency planning process to enhance the overall product and ground it in data-driven solutions
  • Oversee utilization of syndicated and proprietary tools. Develop agency guidelines for optimal use/application of sources and tools - both traditional and online - and keep all teams updated and trained
  • Oversee the evaluation and utilization of new information sources. Provide recommendations on data sources and approaches to be used by clients
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the agency’s ability to understand and implement new insights through original research and analytical approaches
  • Continue improving our tools and also develop new ones
  • Ensure proper utilization and interpretation of media research information.
  • Direct research staff and oversee their professional development. providing guidance/mentoring to junior personnel
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the research marketplace and trends

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s in Business or Operations Research preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in media/marketing research.
