WHO WE ARE:

North Central Health Care (NCHC) is a human services organization serving the counties of Langlade, Lincoln and Marathon. North Central Health Care, with its main campus in Wausau, has additional offices located in Antigo, Merrill and Tomahawk.  NCHC offers outpatient, community support and inpatient services for mental/emotional problems; vocational, life skills training, early intervention, and housing services for the developmentally disabled; and assessment, individual and outpatient group counseling, intensive programming, day treatment, hospital, referral for residential and inpatient treatment, and education for alcohol and other drug problems. Services for detoxification and for persons suffering from problems with gambling addiction are offered as well.

Our nursing home, Mount View Care Center, offers skilled nursing services at the main campus, with a licensed capacity of 265. Persons requiring either short term or long term skilled nursing care because of complex physical needs, psychiatric and neurological diseases, dementia or behavior problems are served.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Transportation Bus and Van Driver provides timely, efficient and safe transportation for residents of Marathon County. They will also transport supplies, do shopping, etc., and maintain buses and various vehicles.

This is a Monday - Friday position from 6:30 am - 9:30 am & 2 pm - 5 pm.   Occasional weekend shift.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess and maintain a proper, valid CDL driver’s license with passenger and school bus endorsements for bus driving, along with a good driving record.
  • The ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing in English.
  • The ability to understand, follow, and execute established routes, proc IN edures and other responsibilities.
  • The ability to maintain a friendly, cooperative, helpful, and professional attitude and disposition in dealing with patients, clients, vendors, staff and other contacts. Must also be able to keep order and maintain proper relationships with clients riding the vehicles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
  • The ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs., move and maneuver clients and clients in wheelchairs, sit for lengthy periods of time, reach, pull, support and offer assistance to clients getting in and out of vehicles.
  • Willingness to complete CPR certification training.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
  • Must provide proof of employment eligibility.
 

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

  • Transports clients by bus, van or car to and from NCHC and other facilities for medical appointments, programming, work, various outings, trips or drives as approved by Transportation Manager.
  • Transports various items/supplies, etc. to and from various locations and vendors.
  • Drives, fuels, checks and maintains buses, vans and other vehicles and tells supervisor of any mechanical problems or other needs.
  • Follows established department policies, procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infection controls. Also attends in-services, required meetings, and educational programs as directed.
 

COMPENSATION:

Competitive hourly wage.
