JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Project Manager III is primarily responsible for providing overall direction for two or more projects and developing new business opportunities relative to a particular Client, groups of Clients or geographical area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures, execution plans, safety and QC plans, and other performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy, including preparing complete estimate for selected project with a detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, and contracting risks.
  • Represents company at bid meetings, project meetings, strategy meetings, etc. as applicable to the project.
  • Initiates and maintains liaison with client to facilitate construction activities including assessing scope of work and resources required to successfully complete project.
  • Plans, organizes and staffs key field positions through operation department heads or subordinate project/construction managers.
  • Initiates and occasionally performs material purchasing and subcontracting activities within the boundaries of corporate policy.
  • Implements and evaluates cost control protocol and directs corrective action to achieve budget objectives.
  • Supervises and/or monitors through administrative direction of on-site Supervision total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.  Investigates potentially serious situations and implements corrective measures, as necessary.
  • Provides technical assistance (i.e., interpretation of drawings) and recommends construction methods and equipment, as required.  Initiates and maintains extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
  • Manages financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest, ensure profitability, and simultaneously maintain good client relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-8+ years experience and Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or 9+ years related experience without a degree.
  • Strong understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards and their impact on project activities.
  • Working knowledge of construction, design, finance and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance.
  • Strong working knowledge of estimating, scheduling, and cost controls.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; good computer skills including MS Word, Project, and Excel.

PHYSICAL/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position may require frequent travel and occasional overtime.
