WORKING TITLE: Training & Development Specialist CATEGORY:
This is position at Huawei will focus on a few areas:
Training Coordination & Management, Needs Assessment of the Business / Skill Gap Analysis, Employee Engagement, Communication Skills Development, Competency Strategy, Annual Training Planning, Developing Business Case for the Learning Strategy Implementation, Work with Instructional Design and Content Experts on Appropriate Learning Strategies to Solve Business Problems, Existing and New Programs and Processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with business groups, HR and other customers to define business and performance issues relating to professional and skills development needs.
Conducts needs assessments to determine the appropriate method of training design for both instructor led, e-learning programs and other delivery methods
Leads the collaboration on content, design and delivery with Subject Matter Experts, Technical Trainers, Managers, etc. to work with instructional designers in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Strong expertise in instructional design methodology and the application of the appropriate learning strategies to solve business problems.
Develops and performs an evaluation of the program design to assure that it has met its objectives
Plans and participates in training program pilots to assure the effectiveness and quality of the training program design and delivery.
Reviews current learning strategy, organizational capabilities and requirements, and skills gap analysis, making recommendations on how to develop a comprehensive training program to address a broad spectrum of training requirements and develop a plan for implementation.
Thoroughly knowledgeable in current industry trends in the field of education, and current offerings and solutions to address organization capabilities and specific development needs.
Leads communication skill development based on Customer Requirements
Drive new policies to ensure compliance with Quality standards and Industry certifications (TL9000)
Advise and drive Performance Improvement Plans for low performing employees; provide developmental coaching; provide follow up reports and further recommendations to managers
Lead initiatives to improve Employee Engagement
Plan competency development strategy.
Able to work across HR, Centers of Excellence and business units.
Able to make the business case for various learning offerings.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Refers to the job, not the incumbent)
Education and/or Certifications/Licensures:
Minimum: Bachelors degree in related field.
Preferred: Masters Degree
Relevant Work Experience:
Minimum: 5 years experience in adult learning strategy and delivery.
Preferred: 10+ years experience in adult learning strategy and delivery.
Skills (Technical or General):
Understanding impact of cultural differences on effectiveness of training. Able to work effectively with broad international population. Proficiency in MS office. High level comfort with training modalities. Listening and interpreting information/ data into a training program. Clear and concise verbal communication. Appropriate level of language for the target audience. Clear and concise written communication. Empathic communication skills, Experience in leadership development initiatives & teambuilding strategies; Ability to deal with various types of learners cross functional process knowledge. Thorough level understanding of functional areas supported technical savvy. Ability to quickly grasp and apply new applications. Ability to determine applicability of new technology to our settings instructional design expertise. Knowledge of design / development methodologies (ADDIE, ISD, IDLS). Knowledge of evaluations methodologies (Kirkpatrick, Phillips).
Must be able to lift/carry materials, move about the office, turn on and operate a computer in the applicable environment, communicate efficiently and effectively on the telephone or in person, and complete required paperwork. Travel may be required.
