Qualifications:

University Degree in health or social sciences
-
Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy preferred
-
Member with the Regulated Health Professionals College
-
Member with the Ontario College of Occupational Therapy preferred
-
3 years experience in a community setting
-
Demonstrated skills in teaching living and life skills to individuals and groups
-
Knowledge of Housing Attendant Services and community resources
-
Conflict resolution and problem-solving ability
-
Demonstrated ability to work well within a team
-
A strong commitment to the concept of independent living
-
Demonstrated ability to work well within a team
-
Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
-
Availability to work a flexible work schedule (some evenings may be required)
-
5 years working in a community living setting preferred

Evidence of good performance history and attendance record

Should be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitors
Accountabilities:

Assess clients and implement living and life skills programs for individuals and groups.
-
Participate in community network related to housing and attendant services.
-
Provide and participate in educational activities.
-
Participate in research and quality improvement activities.

Participate where required in the revenue generating services of the hospital.

Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation.
