Description

Qualifications:

• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• BScN preferred
• Current certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BCLS) required
• PICC line and VAC Therapy experienced preferred
• Geriatric, MSK, EPR, MOEMAR, CVA/Neuro, General Surgical and Medicine experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year experience with demonstrated education and knowledge of rehabilitation concepts and practice
• Capable of independent decision-making with regard to implementing nursing specific treatments
• Excellent assessment and clinical skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Able to do multiple admissions and discharge on a daily basis
• Strong critical analytical thinking skills
• Able to safely care/assess fresh post-operative patients
• Good knowledge of computer technology
• Must be able to do multiple nursing admission assessment in EPR
• Demonstrated skill in providing patient/resident focused care
• Demonstrated leadership skills including creative problem solving, sound judgement and organizational abilities
• Demonstrated skill in reflective practice
• Effective communication skills including conflict management skills
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability
• Effective team player within the transdisciplinary team and demonstrated ability to work with others including clients and their families
• Must be an active participant in multidisciplinary rounds
• Demonstrated reliable work habits
• Able to work collaboratively in a very busy ever changing unit environment
• Must be available to float to other units in the centre
• Evidence of good performance history and attendance record
• Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of West Park:  Excellence, Respect, Trust, Collaboration and Accountability
• Should be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitors
