The purpose of this position is to both undertake and support the activities of Rescan’s Water Resources – Hydrology group which is part of the company’s Environmental Engineering Department. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in applied hydrology, integrated water resources management, and environmental mitigation procedures. Mining industry experience is an asset.
Job Requirements

Experience in hydrology, applied hydrology, and the earth sciences. Interest and ability to carry out field work associated with ongoing hydrological related investigations.

Experience in developing a site wide water balance, familiarity with Goldsim is an asset.

Enjoy working in the outdoors at remote locations under varying environmental conditions.

Practical experience and knowledge of hydrologic methods and techniques, including field collection of hydrological data, data management, hydrologic modeling and statistical flood frequency analyses.

Familiarity with provincial and federal regulations and procedures.

Experience independently managing budgets, personnel, and setting project objectives

Ability to supervise technicians, and work closely with discipline managers and project managers.
Education/Experience and Accreditation:

Bachelor of Science or higher degree in engineering or geosciences with appropriate water resources and hydrology experiences.

Registered or eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC).

Practical experience working in a dynamic consulting environment that requires flexibility and teamwork.

Proven effective report writing skills.

Excellent verbal communication skills, the ability to work with staff at all levels
