Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, CODA Holdings is a leading developer of advanced Lithium-ion power battery systems comprised of three key divisions: CODA Automotive, CODA EV Propulsion Systems and CODA Energy.  Together with its JV partners, CODA is working to reduce dependence on oil and leading the way to a cleaner future through its electric vehicles and stationary energy storage products.

The Director of Energy Storage Engineering will provide technical leadership and organizational management for utility scale stationary energy storage applications at Coda.  He or she will coordinate cross-functionally with other departments of Coda to successfully launch container based stationary energy storage products and bring them to market.  The Director will be responsible for all aspects of engineering, design, validation, and demonstration builds, and will bring specific expertise in the areas of DC-DC conversion, inverters and controls.

Responsibilities:

• Lead design coordination and issue resolution across functional engineering areas. 
• Oversee quality, readiness, and validation.
• Manage interface issues between software, power conversion, and battery systems.
• Help secure external suppliers and manage those relationships
• Support contract negotiations as needed
• Manage subsystem design teams throughout integration to final delivery
• Generate and maintain timing plans for the design, development and production phases in order to support program timing.
• Communicate program status, analysis, and test results to Design Engineers and Management

Required Skills:  

•  BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar discipline
• Minimum 10 years of proven experience leading product development of power electronics
•  5+ years experience as a integration leader in grid tie and energy storage
• MBA is a plus
• Thorough understanding of utility interface and grid storage applications
• Thorough understanding of DC-DC conversion, inverters and controls
• Strong interest in all details of battery systems
• Ability to think laterally and develop innovative solutions
