JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Battery Management System Software Test Engineer at Coda will provide technical validation and verification responsibility for developed software. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a cross-functional development team and will work with other departments of Coda to successfully customize core components and facilitate their integration into each specialized application.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for all assigned aspects of software test engineering and test design, as well as reviews of verification results.
Reports to:  Validation Engineering Manager, Core Technology

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create software test plan from functional specification of Battery Management System control software.
  • Perform software tests from the software test plan.
  • Create detailed test documentation
  • Analyze potential changes (change management) required and their impact on existing development
  • Manage and improve test design utilizing best engineering practices.
  • Create and maintain CANalyzer database and scripts.
  • Create use cases, state machine diagrams, sequence diagrams and UML for new features.
  • Manage test design related issues discovered during the prototype and validation processes.  Address pre-production Quality/Reliability/Durability issues.
  • Take ownership of agreed personal project objectives, timelines and deadlines.
  • Manage assigned work to ensure it is completed on or before deadlines.
  • Complete administration tasks within timelines established by Validation Engineering Manager
  • Communicate assignment status, analysis, and test results.
  • Represent Coda Engineering in interactions with the customer.
  • Contribute to product development plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 5+years
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.  MS in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Strong background in C/C++ required.
  • Strong background with CAN tools. (CANoe, CANalyzer, etc.)
  • Background in Matlab/Simulink desired.
  • Thorough understanding of software design and distributed embedded computer architectures.
  • MxVDev experience or equivalent.
  • Experience with decomposition of system requirements and functional requirements into test plans and test cases.
  • Experience with high voltage system is desired.
  • Strong interest in battery systems technology.
  • Proven record of meeting schedules within budget
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to work closely with others when required.
  • Be self-motivated and innovative
  • Automotive or Military embedded validation experience desired.
