Summary of Position:

 

The HR Manager is expected to develop corporate human resources strategies and programs, provide advice and counsel to management and staff, work with managers at all levels to provide solutions to ongoing employment-related issues, and foster a work environment where employees are engaged an empowered to work towards the goal of maintaining our leadership position in the industry.

This position will involve leading special HR projects such as HRIS implementation continuous quality improvement, as well as carrying out daily HR functions: recruitment, policy implementation, performance management, job analysis and compensation studies.

 

 Job Description:

 

  • Work with outside vendors to set up an HRIS system for the company and utilize the system to efficiently manage our workforce
  • Lead quality improvement team to develop/modify business processes
  • Recruit outside candidate for job vacancies, as well as facilitate internal transitions and promotions
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling and enrolling employees in BMW University training
  • Be a neutral third party between employees and their managers in evaluating  performance, goal setting, and tie performance to pay raise
  • Promote and ensure employee safety, welfare, wellness and health; provide employee services and counseling
  • Initiate employee engagement activities and organize staff events
  • Report to the Director regarding critical events in HR and initiatives in the near future
  • Analyze current workforce effectiveness and search out new approaches to drive business results from people
  • Implement business plans/projects to achieve the company goal
  • Other duties as assigned by Directors

 

Job Specification:

  • 2-5 years progressive experience as a HR generalist in a fast-paced work environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, CHRP designation an asset
  • Proven ability to manage the always-present hiring needs
  • Valuable experience in successfully working with staff and resolving employment issues
  • Have a strong grasp of employment laws and the ability to keep your professional knowledge current as laws and regulations change
  • Excellent problem solving, mediating, and negotiating skills
  • Ability to be analytical, persuasive, and consultative
  • A confident decision maker
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word and Outlook, although more extensive computer knowledge is an asset
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Change Management skills
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • A team player capable of interacting professionally with both staff, managers and customers
  • Ability to work to achieve onerous deadlines with constant change requests from staff and clients
