Amplify is comprised of three divisions. The Amplify Insight and Amplify Learning divisions grew out of the work of Wireless Generation and, as a complement, the Amplify Access division was created shortly thereafter.


Description

Amplify Learning is creating exciting new curriculum that reinvents teaching and learning in the core subjects of English Language Arts, math and science. These products combine interactive game-like experiences with analytics that meet the rigorous demands of the CCSS. By optimizing the power of adaptive technologies, our Learning products support individualized instruction for students and, at the same time, facilitate classroom management for teachers.

The Mathematics Senior Curriculum Developer will create mathematics curricular materials that will provide effective and correct instruction including writing, and revising problems, content explanations, practice problems and assessments to meet team objectives

 

Responsibilities of Senior Curriculum Developer:

  • Review existing materials including print, digital, physical resources, and manipulatives
  • Compose a range of materials that are easily understandable to students at target grade levels, aligned with Common Core standards and consistent with learning goals
  • Act as lead writer and designer and give direction on materials development and revisions materials from feedback in a timely and prompt manner
  • Prepare informative and easy-to-use instructions on use of software, tools (electronic or physical) and environments as needed for product use and revise in light of student and teacher feedback
  • Construct and review complex problems that engage students with mathematical concepts in relevant and engaging ways
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of contract curriculum developers in the creation of instructional materials and problem sets
  • Write and review related assessment items that provide a range of measureable feedback to teachers and team members to gauge the effects of materials on learning and aid in their improvement
  • Prepare answer keys and teacher guide materials in support of curricular use


Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in mathematics and/or mathematics education
  • 10+ years of experience working in educational settings, with evidence of excellence in instruction at relevant age levels
  • 3+ years of experience publishing mathematics education materials or creative use of online media for mathematics education; or educational technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using digital tools for mathematics learning beyond calculators (spreadsheets, dynamic geometry, statistical packages, motion sensors etc.)
  • Knowledge of middle grades curricular programs; or experience in creating assessments
  • Experience working with students of diverse levels of preparation and background
  • Willingness to travel to WGen’s New York Office Headquarters approximately once a month
