Description

PTC is seeking a Strategic Exercise Planner/Tactical Airspace Control Manager (ALO qualification desired, JTAC and JICO qualifications also considered) for GREEN FLAG at Nellis AFB, NV.

The Planner will plan and execute JNTC, HHQ, and other air-ground integration exercises.  The planner will conduct:

  • Tanker and visiting unit scheduling

  • Pre-exercise leadership briefing development

  • Master Air Attack Plan development.

The Planner will assist with the development and collection of exercise data.  Using current combat equipment as well as various training venues, the Planner will:

  • Enhance tactical and operational realistic training

  • Part-task train, instruct, and assess operational ASOC units in conjunction with GREEN FLAG Exercises

  • Integrate with the 4 GREEN FLAG location operations planning teams to provide exercise life-cycle planning support.

The Planner will also perform Fighter Duty Officer Airspace Manager (ASM) duties, if ALO/JTAC qualified: 

  • Coordinate with Airspace Command and Control section to deconflict fixed wing assets with Army aviation assets and counter-fire missions 

  • Process airspace plans from the TACPs and develop airspace plans 

  • Track active ROZ and create CAS ROZs for ACO inclusion  

  • Facilitate low altitude requests from the TACPs to allow CAS assets to fly under the coordinating altitude 

  • Process both immediate and preplanned CAS requests

  • Use the ATO and MAAP to track tasked missions and monitor missions available for tasking  

The Planner should be familiar with:

  • Range Procedures

  • Acting as the Air Force liaison at the live-fire command and control facility during scenarios including CAS missions

  • Possess and provide expertise to adjudicate air-to-ground delivery and ground-to-air (air defense artillery, surface to air missile) battle damage assessment

Qualifications:

  • Tactical (fighter/bomber) aircraft experience or JTAC experience or JICO experience

  • Desired: USAF ALO or USMC Air Officer (AO) experience, minimum of two years (AGOS graduates preferred). 

  • Desired: Minimum of 7 years of experience in CAS (A-10, F-15E, F-16, F-18, FA-18)

  • Desired: ASOC experience
