Description

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Degree in Food Processing, Engineering, Food Science or Business Administration is required; minimum of five – seven years of work experience in operations management or engineering in a food manufacturing operation; five – seven years experience in a supervisory role.    

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Multi-departmental responsibility including dehydration, preparation, raw material, milling, warehouse and sanitation
    • Directly responsible for supervising personnel across multiple shifts and departments, maintaining schedules, assuring quality of production, planning task assignments, cost metrics, safety and all regulatory requirements
    • Actively monitoring materials and labor to achieve optimum capacity, yields and overall cost reduction
    • Controlling modifications of machinery to assure progressive improvement changes while keeping the risk associated with change within reasonable limits
    • Manages production staff to attain production and quality goals.
    • Leads team members to identify, manage, and execute the plants process improvement opportunities.
    • Ensures production resources including materials, equipment and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules.
    • Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service.
    • Ensures that finished and in-process products are produced, handled, and identified according to company and customer specifications and procedures, as well as all product safety, legal and quality guidelines.
    • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations regarding occupational health, food safety, and environmental compliance.
    • Performs food safety inspections, monitors and assists QA personnel to ensure proper sanitation (HAACP and GMPs)
    • Participates in equipment and system designs and strategic equipment improvement projects
    • Recommend and implement alternate approaches and solutions of identified technical issues

    • PC skills to include MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Must be bilingual in Spanish

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Standing, walking, sitting, typing, some repetitive movements
    • The environment is usually loud, cold, hot and humid, along with moving equipment
    • May involve lifting, moving, staging and bending.
