Job Title: Manager, International Business Development

The International Business Development Manager (IBD Manager) provides support to the International Department, the international markets and the corporate office, working cross- functionally in areas related to Marketing/PR, Forecasting/Planning, Production/Supply Chain, Product Development, Creative, Visual Merchandising and Finance.This position is responsible for supporting an efficient flow of information and communication both ways (internally within the corporate office and to markets) in regards to marketing, sales and operations.The manager acts as a fast track liaison and problem solver, quickly reacts to market requests and needs and takes full ownership of assigned projects, ensuring timely completion.
Essential duties and requirements:
Organizational and Management role:
- Manage a team of 2 people (one coordinator and one associate manager) to support the international department the EMEA region (continental Europe and Middle eastern markets), as well as oversee UK market ( supported directly by the associate manager)
- Develop, mentor team and manage day to day activities (define priorities) and ensure assets / reports/ dashboards are delivered in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the IBD Director to identify project management processes, communication flow improvements and leads the IBD EMEA team in implementing them.
- Work closely with IBD Director to identify best practices and foster synergies with the other regions.
Support EMEA markets in areas of Operational Marketing, Global Branding, Visual Merchandising, Forecasting, Product Development and Operations/Supply Chain. Continue to improve the flow of communication between markets and SF corporate office through bi-weekly conference calls with the EU regional team.
o Operational Marketing
Communicate, consolidate and analyze new product launch forecasts (product and collateral)
Provide all international markets with the tools required to forecast launch quantities and conduct retailer presentations: comps, color swatches, product shots, creative boards, product marketing and training briefs, etc.)
Facilitate the launch of marketing activities with local teams by anticipating local needs and ensuring all assets are available timely
Collect, audit and provide feedback on new product and PR/events calendars on a monthly basis
Identify, collect and share best practices
o Product Development
Communicate product development requests or feedback to corporate team based on market knowledge
o Creative Services/Visual Merchandising / Art
Submit and follow-up on fulfillment of visual merchandising and Art requests for markets
Ensure the global execution of brand identity in terms of counter design, merchandising and collaterals
Assist in providing visual guidelines and merchandising elements.
Prepare post market visit report with pictures of counters, POS to share with visual
merchandising team to encourage in-store branding consistency and provide feedback to markets
o Operations/Supply Chain
Communicate all product launch schedules and delays, when applicable, to markets.
Submit/approve special requests for early launch or revised launch quantities.
Facilitate flow of information/communication between markets and SF corporate office.
Coordinate special projects.
Publish monthly Retail Sales Report (manage the entire process from data collection, data entry/processing, analysis to publication)
Support bi-yearly SRP collection process.
o New market team induction
Ensure all new market team members are inducted in a timely and comprehensive way and have access to all global communication tools & resources (HOTDAM, Global Newsletter ….)
Global Information –sharing and reporting
o Contribute to the publication of the global weekly newsletter by :
Collecting and consolidating functional & markets updates in a creative, timely and seamless manner
Formulating creative ways to present weekly global news
Optimizing format and content
Ensuring synchronization with asset-management platform.
o Ensure that all final assets pertaining to respective functions ( VM, Art, Digital …) are consistently uploaded and tagged correctly on our Digital sharing platform called HOTDAM.
o Update the International team on market best practices and functional update at the International weekly touch base to foster best practices sharing and synergies.
o Drive the consolidation of global dashboards and tools such as 360 asset presentation, A launch sales tracking report, POS Directory …
o Participate in International conferences and events in Europe and /or in the US (occasionally preparing and delivering marketing or ad hoc presentations) and share major takeaways with International business team at least 4 times per year.
o Be the expert and advocate for specific channel of distribution: boutiques, travel retail, Sephora or brow bars.
o Collect and share business updates and best practices with market experts
o Publish quarterly newsletter.
Event / Conference planning
o Lead planning and execution of 2 successful and creative global conferences each year.
o Manage the entire event project from start to finish with the support of the international coordinator (timelines, deliverables, communication with stakeholders; including vendors, partners and participants, and monitor task completion and budget)
Ad hoc Projects:
o Will be assigned ad hoc special international projects, tasks and responsibilities according to business needs and provide project oversight.
o Work with regulatory team to secure timely registration of products for all markets.
o Communicate any quality issues to the QA and Product Development teams.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, economics, or communications preferred.
6+ years of international marketing experience
Proven experience managing people
Strong business acumen and analytical & advanced reporting skills
Ability to assess business opportunities, develop marketing strategies, and follow through to in-store execution through productive internal and market partnerships.
Must be highly self-driven and result-oriented
Must have excellent communication skills and positive attitude
Very organized and detailed-oriented
Understanding of a multi-cultural client base
Foreign language, Mandarin/French is a plus
Experience with retail or prestige cosmetics is a plus
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Be adaptable and willing to work in different areas across commercial, finance, marketing, visual merchandising, projects and other functions.
International travel required (3-4/year)
