Description

We are currently seeking an A/P Accountant based in San Francisco. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the A/P Accountant will be responsible for assisting in the daily processing of invoices and as required travel expense reports for the entire company, resolving problems and communicating via e-mail and phone whenever necessary.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Perform routine clerical duties in the accounts payable function which includes but is not limited to:
  • Inputting invoices into accounting system after verifying proper authorization & coding
  • Processing invoices in a timely manner in accordance with vendor payment terms
  • Reviewing ageing of vendor invoices on a monthly basis and resolving any invoice overdue by 60 days
  • Filing T&E expenses in a timely and organized manner
• Resolving any issues that might arise requiring the follow actions:
  • Follow up with purchasing department or vendor on any missing documentation
  • Resolve payment disputes and invoices that are overdue
  • Communicating with vendor as required to resolve issues
  • Obtain proper invoice approval before processing or payment is made
  • Resolving coding issues
• Processing invoices for payments which includes but is not limited to:
  • Prepare requests for vendor payments through US & International funds transfers
  • Prepare request for vendor payments through checks assisting GL Accountant obtaining necessary signature for check
  • Distributing or mailing checks to vendors
  • Processing POG commissions check
• Download and process UPS Statements
• Set up new vendors in Axapta verify for completeness of information, obtaining appropriate signature on new vendor form and verifying set  up is in compliance with 1099 reporting
• Prepare and file 1099’s on a annual basis, follow up with vendors on any issues that arise and send 1099’s to vendors and IRS
• Able to meet deadlines, willing to accept change and work unscheduled and short notice overtime
• Any other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications:

• 2 Year degree with emphasis in accounting preferred.
• 1-2 years previous experience in an accounting environment.
• Data entry experience using Excel, 10-key by touch.
• 1-2 years experience with Microsoft Windows and proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with middle-tier accounting software required.
• Experience with AXAPTA is preferred.
