Monitor various systems’ performance, troubleshoot system problems, and conduct technical diagnostic analysis to determine the source of the hardware and/or system problem and develop data recovery methods if necessary.
Develop and provide support services, including instructions, guidance, and training relative to the use of installed applications and systems.
Implement applicable patches including Information Assurance Vulnerability Assessments (IAVAs), Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletin (IAVBs), and Taskings (TAs) for their computing environment (CE).
Apply security requirements to the operating system for computing environment (CE) used in their current position.
Configure and administer Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name Server (DNS), Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS), Active Directory (AD) and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) support.
Receive, process, and report final response/actions for the customer's Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) Taskings and IAVAs to curtail vulnerabilities.
Search computer and system logs for unauthorized entry attempts or activity and reporting any findings.
Information Assurance (IA) Functions:
Examine potential security violations to determine if the CE has been breached, assess the impact, and preserve the evidence.
Support, monitor, test, and, troubleshoot hardware and software IA problems pertaining to the CE.
Recommend and schedule IA-related repairs in the CE.
Ensure that hardware, software, data, and facility resources are archived, sanitized, or disposed of in a manner consistent with system security plans and requirements.
Perform system audits per the direction of the KO or COR to assess security related factors within the CE.
Provide Software Support:
Provide software support to include any subsequent releases/upgrades/patches, configuration, troubleshooting and resolution for various commercial software packages.
Provide software integration, identification of products to meet customer’s requirements current and future.
Provide technical support on software installation and configuration.
Utilize approved automated systems to remotely deploy all applicable software upgrades, patches, and mandated CERTs.
Maintain IT inventory database for control and location of IT assets.
Provide software support to include but not limited to the following:
Microsoft Server
Active Directory
Analyze system faults and troubleshoot and run diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect, troubleshoot & solve problems.
Evaluate and install developed software during various phases of testing. 
Review and prepare documentation for systems, tests and installation of software.
Administer systems/environment solutions and supports the planning of system/environment requirements

Required Skills and Background
Experience in installing, supporting, and maintaining servers or other computer systems, and planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. 
Formal Education & Certification
Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose Microsoft products, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Windows server/desktop; including all aspects of Windows security and Microsoft desktop products.
Knowledge of Windows AD, Windows networking and administration.
Capability to configure and troubleshoot server equipment, and identify and resolve hardware/software/network malfunctions.
Network+ certification or any approved certification demonstrating working knowledge and understanding of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networked environment
Security+ certification or any approved certification demonstrating working knowledge and understanding of applying basic security principles to the computing environment (CE).
Certified knowledge of Microsoft Windows server operating systems and knowledge of applications, System Management Software, Microsoft’s Active Directory (AD), and all aspects of Windows security to include any subsequent software releases/upgrades.
Expertise to install and support server hardware, software and certificates.
Must possess one of the following certifications: GSEC, SSCP, Security+ CE, CISA, GCIH, GSE, SCNA or CISSP (or Associate) AND Must possess one of the following certifications: MCSA, MCSE, MCITP SA, MCITP EA, MCM Windows Server 2008 R2: Directory, MCA Windows Server: Directory, CCAA, GCWN
Technical School, college diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 5-7 years equivalent work experience.
Must be proficient in reading and capable of communicating effectively in English.

Work Conditions
Sitting for extended periods of time.
