Position Summary

Clariant is currently seeking to add an Environmental Safety and Health Affairs (ESHA) Manager for its operations in Canada. The ESHA Manager will manage all ESHA activities at the site and guarantee all ESHA activities are in compliance with legislation.

Position Description

  • Act as a consultant for safety, health and environmental issues at all the sites.
  • Monitors regulations, national & local laws, emergency issues and ensures procurement and doc of required data.
  • Support to the manufacturing areas in the evaluation of risks (TASK inventory & JSAs/PHAs/ZHAs).
  • Works to achieve compliance with corporate, regional and company standards and ESHA targets.
  • Define investment projects related to ESHA issues.
  • Organizes, prepares and participates in the site local emergency management (LEM).
  • Evaluation of investments and expenses budgets for ESHA matters.
  • Monitors and reports the follow up of ESHAaudits and insurance inspections.
  • Report to North America SEO with site information.
  • Prepares, collects and provides key figures, risk portfolio corrective actions and status updates.
  • Reviews environmental and safety compliances with law, evaluates their impact on the company's operations.
  • Administration of ESHA human resources in plant Investigations conducted.
  • Support of contractors in the definition of safety requirements.
  • Control of contractors during the activities of service provision at plant and field sites.
  • Accompany regular visits and requirements by authorities.
  • Investigates accident and incidents cases at all Canadian sites.
  • Suggests corrective and preventive actions on site's risk portfolio and daily dangerous situations. 

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years’ experience in planning and execution of ESHA related activities.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in process industrial plants.
  • If has Clariant experience, understands Clariant Organization and processes well.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to multi-task activities & prioritize as necessary.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Detail oriented.
