Surgery - Orthopedic Spine Peer Specialist Medical Reviewers (Contract)

This is a great opportunity for physicians who would like to apply their medical knowledge and years of clinical expertise in a flexible setting. AllMed Healthcare Management helps healthcare payers to reduce claims costs, while ensuring consistent patient coverage. We have a long-term contract opportunity available, supporting one of our clients on their system. In this position, you will perform utilization reviews for various types of procedures and medications.

This is a remote work opportunity from your office or home setting. Flexible work hours will be coordinated with the client.

The five minimum qualifications are:

• Must be certified with ABMS (American Board of Medical Specialties) or AOA (American Osteopathic Association).
• Must be in Active Practice (teaching and treating patients for at least 8 hours per week)
• Must have graduated from Medical School for at least 5 years.
• Your medical license must be active and unrestricted (without any sanctions).
• Must have strong writing skills, computer literacy, including word processing, web applications and email, and able to type at least 30-40 words per minute.

The successful candidate should have at least five years of varied clinical experience, and possess the following skills/qualities:

• Ability to read and analyze complex information, including criteria based medical charts, UR nursing notes and clinical criteria.
• Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
• Ability to provide objective, first-level determinations.
• Outstanding interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to customer service and satisfaction
• Ability to commit to pre-determined schedule; reliable
• Electronic medical records experience helpful
• Access to high-speed internet connection
