As a member of our Americas Sales Engineering team, the Sales Engineer, Canada will provide representation to prospects and customers for all Sandvine solutions articulating their operational benefits and features. The Sales Engineer must possess competitive knowledge (in their area of specialization) including solution, technology and product offerings and an understanding and conversant about the company, solutions and product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
Primary activities will include:

Customer presentations bids and proposal coordination as well as network design

Manage Sandvine project implementations, providing installations and service readiness testing as required

Support launch activities and assist with tradeshow and system engineering training

Respond to initial customer inquiries
-
Assist with the definition and championing of improvements in Sandvine networking systems and software solutions
The territory for this position will be Canada.
Qualifications
-
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
-
7+years related pre-sales, industry and business experience
-
Cisco product experience or relevant experience in key competitor offerings
-
Technical background with an understanding of networking and specifically IP related technologies
-
Experience within the Telecom or cable industry with specific DSL, cable deployment or operational experience would be considered an asset
-
Experience with Unix and scripting

Installation, operation and configuration of any and all of the following: Cisco routers/switches, BSD operating systems, firewall technologies

Flexibility in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, high initiative, self-starter
