|The Project/Program Manager plans, directs and coordinates staff and activities of an assigned area of the Project Management Office to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time-frames and funding parameters. In this role, the candidate will maintain the strategic view of the business objectives and the relationship to department projects. The candidate will prioritize project criteria, processes and contribute to decisions regarding program and project direction.
Plans, directs and coordinates the staff and activities of an assigned area, ensuring project milestones and budgetary constraints are maintained.
Program area will focus on ICD-10 remediation and compliance readiness projects.
Collaborates with Management to define time-frames, funding, procedures, deliverables and staffing levels.
Works with IT, vendors and customers to develop project proposal outlining deliverables, requirements, risks, assumptions, key stakeholders, roles and responsibilities, and budget.
Works with senior management; builds and manages the program management function to support projects.
Assists in defining and developing departmental wide program management practices, governance standards, processes and metrics.
Reviews high level deliverables across projects, and reports to Senior Management on projects' status.
Implements engagement review and quality assurance procedures in accordance with established methodology to ensure successful project execution. Develops testing standards and post implementation support models.
Manages scope and mitigates risk across all projects.
Identifies and resolves critical issues.
Assists in the evaluation and re-design of project plans and objectives as necessary.
Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports; oversees the selection, development, management and evaluation of indirect reports.
Contributes to Portfolio Management and planning for assigned areas.
|QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field;
Training and knowledge of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) standards, guidelines and best practices;
Training and knowledge of QA (Quality Assurance) and Testing disciplines and standard practices;
Formal project management skills, SDLC Methodology training and disciplines.
Certification in project management disciplines, standards and best practices.
Project Management certification (PMP)
Five - ten+ years of combined healthcare experience operating in a leadership role within a healthcare organization (payor and/or provider), vendor or consulting company. Qualified candidates will have knowledge of ICD 10 issues, news, and trends as affects multiple areas within an organization along with a special area of interest such as Revenue Cycle, IT, Finance, Utilization Management, Claims Cycle with experience in how ICD 10 affects those areas.
Candidates would have experience providing leadership of large, diverse project teams and working with physicians, nursing, hospital administration or other leadership functions of a healthcare organization.
Must have experience generating/tracking a project plan, communicating with stakeholders and leading subject matter experts. Prospective candidates will also hold their PMP Certification or be able to demonstrate their path to completion.

Two to five years of experience with IT systems/programs in support of Medicaid and Medicare Programs.
Formal project management experience.
