Procurement Specialist

The opportunity:

Our client, is recognized as southern Ontario's largest road, sewer and watermain contractors. They are seeking a procurement specialist to join their  procurement team in Toronto. They offer a competitive compensation package, and a great work environment. 

The Ideal Candidate:

• Solid experience in the development/formation and post award administration of complex Purchase Orders related to capital purchases.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, providing support when and where needed.
• Ability to work without ongoing supervision
• Flexibility, knowing when to ask for or offer help.
• Solid experience in major construction projects
• Strong commercial acumen to assess and negotiate commercial arrangements.
• Poise and credibility to interface with project managers, procurement managers, attorneys, internal business partners, and contractors.
• Have a sound knowledge of contract law.
• Work with a high level of discretion and confidentiality
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to influence decisions and results without alienating people or being adverse

Education:

• Minimum of 5 years supply chain/procurement/contract experience preferably within the construction/aggregate industry.
• Completion of a Business degree or diploma with specific education in the areas of Supply Chain, Commerce, Business/Contract law, Business Planning and Operations, Construction Administration certificate or a combination of experience and education.
