The opportunity:
Our client, is recognized as southern Ontario's largest road, sewer and watermain contractors. They are seeking a procurement specialist to join their procurement team in Toronto. They offer a competitive compensation package, and a great work environment.
The Ideal Candidate:

Solid experience in the development/formation and post award administration of complex Purchase Orders related to capital purchases.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment, providing support when and where needed.

Ability to work without ongoing supervision

Flexibility, knowing when to ask for or offer help.

Solid experience in major construction projects

Strong commercial acumen to assess and negotiate commercial arrangements.

Poise and credibility to interface with project managers, procurement managers, attorneys, internal business partners, and contractors.

Have a sound knowledge of contract law.

Work with a high level of discretion and confidentiality

Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to influence decisions and results without alienating people or being adverse
Education:
-
Minimum of 5 years supply chain/procurement/contract experience preferably within the construction/aggregate industry.

Completion of a Business degree or diploma with specific education in the areas of Supply Chain, Commerce, Business/Contract law, Business Planning and Operations, Construction Administration certificate or a combination of experience and education.
