Description

The Beyond the Rack Technology team is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst to develop, execute, and maintain functional and performance test scripts on our ERP system. The candidate will report to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Responsibilities

· Create, update, and maintain test plans and test cases

· Track, Analyse, and communicate defects through the use of a defect tracking tools

· Identify problems with code or development processes, take initiative and propose solutions

· Create and execute automation test scripts to expose system functional and performance issues

· Work closely with development and management to provide status updates, communicate risks and concerns

Required Qualifications and Skills

· BA in Computer Science

· 2 to 3 years of experience in software QA

· Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced development environment

· Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle

· Ability to test web-based applications, working with projects from inception to release

· Scripting experience in at least one of the following areas: Unix Shell, PHP, PERL, Shell Script

· Database experience with MySQL with the ability to write semi-complex queries

· Understanding of requirements-based testing, analysis, test coverage and requirements traceability

· Expertise in writing and maintaining test plans and test cases

· Understanding of methodologies for test planning and execution

· Understanding of source code version control management systems: CVS, Subversion

· Experience writing test automation scripts using commercial and in-house tools

Qualifications considered Assets

· Basic programming skills considered an asset

· Understanding of Agile development methodology considered an asset

· ERP experience a definite plus

· Understanding of MySQL database and constructing/ executing MySQL queries considered an asset
