Intranet & Portal Specialist (FT)

Effective immediately: (FT) Intranet & Portal Specialist, Wilmington University, Wilson Graduate Center.

Requirements:  A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in Web Development or a related field of study.  A minimum of two years of experience in web application development, application administration, and development is required. Experiencing developing or administering Microsoft SharePoint systems is preferred. Must have excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently, as well as work successfully in a team environment. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Must possess excellent computer skills. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of HTML/XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript and DOM, ASP.NET, MSQL, MS Visual Audio, Adobe Dreamweaver, Windows IIS administration, as well as SharePoint development application skills. The incumbent must have the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all situations.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):   Develop, support, sustain, and/or improve University web portals used primarily for content, communication, and collaboration for all or various segments of the University community, such as the University employee intranet. Serve as application or system administrator for select web portals as described above. Collaborate with University departments, work groups, and individuals to create solutions using portal systems to support content, communication, and collaboration goals, strategies, and processes. Work with Information Technology to lead, guide, or assist with proper systems configuration and network architecture necessary for successful operation and use of portal systems. Work with Educational Technology and other partner departments to develop training programs and supporting documentation to foster successful adoption and use of portal systems. Assist the Senior Director in researching, developing, and implementing governance policy and procedure for portals as described above. Maintain an active knowledge of current technologies and trends in portal development and adoption and assess new technologies for possible application to serve the University’s business requirements and strategies. Provide excellent customer service and support to all levels of users to ensure accuracy of web site information and resolution of problems. Perform other duties which may be requested by the Senior Director.

Hours of Employment:  Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The incumbent must be flexible enough with their schedule to meet the needs of the department and/or the University.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
