What you’ll be doing…

As the leader of a Regional Sales Consulting team, you will be leading and growing one of the most dynamic sales consultant teams in Business Intelligence. This role is not for the faint of hearts as we have more demand for our products than we can fulfill. The only thing slowing us down is getting feet on the street and showing prospects that Business Intelligence solutions really can be delivered as fast and as easily as Tableau does. This business is evolving and growing rapidly, and we are disrupting the market so this leader must be able to stay ahead of the business and adapt to change.

The leader of the regional sales consulting team will need to be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and leading a sales cycle as well as driving a high performance team. This leader must be ready for the next level of management and will need to groom and develop the future leaders of sales consulting.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include…

  • Partner with the sales team and align the Sales Consulting resources to achieve business targets on both a tactical strategic level.
  • Building and coaching high performing teams and leading change, and ensuring the team is structured for both proactive and reactive support to customers and prospects
  • Master the benefits, features, and application of Tableau’s products
  • Responsible for hiring, ramping, and managing employee development and performance
  • Driving customer success, sales methodology, and sales success in support of exceptional quarterly and annual sales achievement.
  • Ensuring successful delivery of technical proof including POCs and guided evaluations
  • Provide presales support for all sales activities including needs analysis, data review, product demonstrations, and other general sales support as a player/coach
  • Close business with accounts of all sizes, and develop relationships with key customers
  • Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues, and products
  • Practice effective, excellent communication with sales, management, customers, and support staff
  • Practice in team-building and company-growth activities including strategy setting, sales training, marketing efforts, and customer care
  • Travel to customer locations in territory to support sales efforts
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who you are…

  • Experienced.  3 or more years in software sales consulting including both transactional sales and strategic selling.  At least 5 years as a sales consultant with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • A True Team Player.  You're a leader and you know that to get the best results, you also have to be a great team player.
  • Domain.  Experience with analytics, business intelligence systems, or databases preferred.  Bachelors of Science in engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
  • Technically Savvy. You don’t shy away from opportunities to get into technology – and you can learn it quickly. 
  • Excellent Communication. You know what to say and more importantly, how to say it.
  • Problem Solver. You love tackling the most difficult of challenges and know how to get to the best solution.
  • Leader.  Exceptional leadership skills: a strong recruiter and motivator of people.
  • Go-Getter.  Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful.
