We are currently looking for a Director, Total Cost Management to join our team based in Toronto, Canada. Reporting to the VP, Procurement, North American & Latin America, with a dotted line to the President and Managing Director of Canada, the Director, Total Cost Management, Canada role is part of the global Total Cost Management (TCM) team with primary responsibility for leading the TCM approach globally for specific sectors through management and implementation of supply projects including training and communication plans and understanding of all cost driver and key providers within the market to define best solution for gate group and its customers.

In this role, the Director, TCM, Canada is expected to deliver year-over-year improvement in total cost of ownership, quality and service by working closely with each of the procurement Organization and suppliers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Leads the TCM approach for the Canada region with adoption and compliance to sourcing methodologies, approaches and strategies.

  • Region Management:
    • Promotes TCM philosophy throughout region within all brands/units
    • Drives Continuous Improvement opportunities
    • Participates in global communications, training and team development
    • Effectively utilizes resources supporting global sector execution
  • Financial Planning and Execution:
  • Delivers regional benefits targets annually
  • Develops multi-year sourcing plans for region
  • Manages cost center achieving forecast
  • Establishes, measures, tracks, and communicates internal performance measures 
  • Utilizes electronic sourcing tools to minimize internal purchasing transaction costs
  • Identifies continuous improvements to tools and processes driving sourcing efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Supports continued education within region through ongoing  training
  • Manages a regional team of procurement managers for both direct and indirect categories to ensure savings targets are achieved
  • Leads career planning and development discussions for team;  mentoring high potential sourcing professionals
  • Supports the development of a learning culture to ensure the sharing of knowledge across the function.
  • Motivates team by communicating savings opportunities and successes throughout the company; actively champion sourcing work as a valued and career enhancing experience
  • Guides Total Cost Leaders to make positive changes in their behaviors and attitudes that produce valued outcomes for their teams and colleagues with whom they work and across the organization.
  • Drives and Develops resources to support the change transformation
  • Supports the development of a Total Cost Management stakeholder and supplier engagement toolkit

Education:

  • Bachelors  Degree  required

Work Experience:

  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in managing supply chain/sourcing activities, or relevant management experience
  • Previous leadership experience, three (3) years of management experience
