Essential Accountabilities (Job Function)

 

The Renewals Analyst is responsible for overseeing the processing of Commercial Mortgage Renewals, in accordance with company policies and procedures.  The Renewals Analyst will be responsible to cross check work completed by their colleagues.  The Renewals Analyst will be responsible for the overall integrity of the paperless office files and full completion of the file for the paperless filing room..

 

  • Assist Senior Manager to maintain details on Renewals Maturity Report for both outstanding and completed transactions
  • Review credit binders for accuracy and completion of information.
  • Knowledge of AML (Anti Money Laundering) regulations an asset
  • Work with Senior Manager on complex renewal transactions, including investor sales, backdating pay downs and adjusting payments.
  • Ensure monthly renewal maturity letters have been sent out and are saved in proper e-format
  • Follow up of solicitor and insurance documentation to ensure it is received on a timely basis or reported to Senior Manager for further action.
  • Instruct solicitors and liaise with Investors on the Assumption approval and closing process
  • Responsible for ensuring all Renewal and Assumption files have been saved to the Paperless File Room in required format and in a timely manner
  • Update on a regular basis any changes in policy or procedure to the Procedures Manual for the Renewals & Assumptions department
  • Ensure Renewals & Assumptions terms are correctly processed on the Optimus system
  • Cross-check both Renewal and Assumption files for accuracy as required
  • Follow-up with Investor on fee and execution documents as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Management.

 

Qualifications

 

Education / Experience / Skills:

­

  • Post secondary education (BComm)
  • Mortgage Agent Program course or to be completed within 30 days.
  • Two or more years experience in the commercial mortgage/finance industry
  • Experience working with the Optimus system a definite asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel
  • Good understanding of mortgage security documentation
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Experience working in a paperless office environment
  • Prior experience processing mortgage assumptions, renewals and/or new loan transactions an asset
  • Understanding of the ID/AML and Down Payment Verification requirements an asset
