Team Leader

Summary

The Team Leader is responsible for assisting in the successful operations of the Rocky Hill, Connecticut, office. This position reports to the Regional Manager of the Rocky Hill, Connecticut, office.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervises bridge inspection, evaluation, and design or repair of new bridges.

  • Responsible for assisting in proposal preparation.

  • Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to their area of expertise.

  • Directs and supervisors other engineers and drafters.

  • Prepares and monitors project budgets. 

  • Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.

  • Be active in Technical societies, such as ACEC. 

  • Be available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

  • CT PE

  • 10 years of bridge safety inspection experience.

  • Field work required.

  • Open Water Certification

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, evaluate facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 125 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
