POSITION SUMMARY:

Stonegate Mortgage Corporation offers a career opportunity for an experienced Account Executive to offer Stonegate Mortgage Corporation products through our B2B sales channels.  The primary responsibilities of this position are to research and identify high producing third party origination prospects such as banks, brokers, and credit unions that can deliver quality residential loan products to Stonegate Mortgage Corporation for underwriting and delivery through either a traditional Wholesale channel, or a prior approved Correspondent channel; to develop relationships with such prospects and to sell loan products through those prospects.  The Account Executive works independently and uses his or her judgment and knowledge to identify and develop relationships with prospects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Represent Stonegate in the local market in a positive manner; and network to create additional loan opportunities for the company.
  • Create a culture of sales activities daily, including daily and weekly sales calls on referral sources that can stimulate and grow the BDM’s monthly loan production.
  • Establish a network of brokers and banks that desire to fund loans with Stonegate Mortgage via traditional table funding, as well as prior approved clients that fund their own loans based on our underwriting approval.
  • Clearly articulate and implement a marketing and business plan, without significant oversight, that will lead to identifying third party origination prospects and developing successful loan originations.
  • Have a thorough understanding of all Stonegate Mortgage policies, procedures, and technology, and be able to train to them effectively.
  • Manage Credit and Appraisal Risk within Stonegate Mortgage policy.
  • Control all expenditures to be in line with company standards.
  • Provide effective customer service skills at all times.
  • Utilize independent thought daily in their job function to include:  decision-making about which clients are a proper fit with Stonegate Mortgage; which loan files represent an acceptable risk to the company, and how to properly communicate all loan decisions with internal and external business partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a phone or face-to-face environment.
  • Possess a working knowledge of all lending programs available through Stonegate Mortgage Corporation.

  • Desire to take personal responsibility to complete tasks and solve problems.
  • Ability to perform tasks and complete projects with minimal supervision

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:

  • Must have a proven track record of successful mortgage loan business development.
  • Thoroughly understand FNMA/FMLMC, FHA/VA, and USDA lending guidelines, and understand all facets of a real estate transaction.
  • Two+ years' experience originating loans in a wholesale environment.
  • Use experience and knowledge to make sound, independent judgment to identify prospects and develop a strategy for approaching those prospects.
  • Must be able to clearly articulate an ability to work with automated systems.
