Summary: 

As a leading member of the team, functions as a team resource for internal staff and client.  Responsible for the quality of the team’s work.  Ensures deadlines are met. Works under general supervision of Attorney.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent must adhere to the Firm’s privacy and confidentiality policies and may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential functions as determined by business necessity:

 

1. Case Work 

  • Perform intake of cases.
  • Troubleshoot and establish case strategy.
  • Draft Petitions/Applications.
  • File Petitions/Applications with government agency.

2. Client Support

  • Communicate with clients regarding procedural and case processing issues. 
  • Develop client management skills.
  • Update and manage status reports and Notes Discussion Databases.
  • Responsible for review and approval of client billing under supervision of Partner or Attorney.

3.  Administrative/Team Support

  • Prioritize and assign cases.
  • Monitor workload, production and workflow.
  • Oversee status of cases through utilization of case management and billing systems.
  • Train new team members.
  • Identify ways to improve team productivity.
  • May assist with office-wide projects.

4. Other duties as assigned  

 

  • Contribute to the Firm’s overall initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally.  Displays professionalism, quality service and a “positive” attitude to internal members and departments of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, telephone and in person.

o        Possesses strong knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas.

o        Drafts and files immigrant and non-immigrant petitions, including Outstanding Researcher and PERM.

o        Provides customer satisfaction.

o        Assists with management of caseload with some degree of independence.

Supervisory Requirements:

None.

 

Travel Requirements:

None.

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

BS or BA Degree and generally has 3+ years of experience with the Firm or 5-8 years of experience in a senior level capacity with an immigration law firm, department, or corporate immigration function.

 

Typical Equipment:

Desktop and/or Personal Computer, various software, hardware and network equipment, Fragomen’s telephone and voicemail system.
