Job Title: Paralegal Job Family: Legal Staff Support Reports To: Partner or Attorney FLSA: Non Exempt Summary: As a leading member of the team, functions as a team resource for internal staff and client. Responsible for the quality of the team’s work. Ensures deadlines are met. Works under general supervision of Attorney. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent must adhere to the Firm’s privacy and confidentiality policies and may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential functions as determined by business necessity: 1. Case Work
2. Client Support
3. Administrative/Team Support
4. Other duties as assigned
Competencies Required: A. Case Work o Possesses strong knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas. o Possesses strong knowledge of Firm and client processes. o Takes initiative to identify priorities and seek guidance, if needed. o Demonstrates attention to detail. o Drafts and files immigrant and non-immigrant petitions, including Outstanding Researcher and o Demonstrates high level of productivity. o Multitasks in a fast-paced environment with competing demands. o Achieves high level of productivity. B. Client Relations o Focuses on client service. o Provides customer satisfaction. C. Team Interaction o Assists with management of caseload with some degree of independence. o Demonstrates flexibility and initiative regarding assignments for self and team. o Contributes to positive work environment.
Supervisory Requirements: None. Travel Requirements: None. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: BS or BA Degree and generally has 3+ years of experience with the Firm or 5-8 years of experience in a senior level capacity with an immigration law firm, department, or corporate immigration function. Typical Equipment: Desktop and/or Personal Computer, various software, hardware and network equipment, Fragomen’s telephone and voicemail system. Physical Requirements: None specifically.
