About the Position – Sr. Account Manager
This is a new position requiring an industry savvy person with a background in semiconductor equipment sales, business development, key account management, product development / engineering, and program management. This position will report to the Director of Strategic Accounts and develop and maintain key accounts. Having both strategic and tactical responsibilities, you will position the company for long-term strategic success with the customer(s) and coordinate Cohu SEG’s operational execution to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for managing Cohu SEG’s business and relationship with the customer(s). Works with Cohu SEG’s global, functional operations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Sales, Finance, Asia) to communicate customer expectations and requirements and ensure that these operations are meeting customer needs.
Primary contact (internal and external) for customer issues. Lead meetings to define and present technical information.
Schedule/coordinate regular product reviews, management reviews, technology roadmap and other meetings to understand customer’s requirements and expectations and identify new business opportunities.
Communicate on a regular basis with customer, become their first point of escalation and incident management, own their issues and gain their trust and respect. Manage customer problems through to acceptable resolution. Escalate issues to senior management when appropriate.
Develop and cultivate constructive relationships at multiple levels within the customer’s organization.
Maintain insight into customer operations and plans. Develop and coordinate plans to proactively address and correct gaps in Cohu SEG’s performance. Be alert for and communicate changes or trends in customer plans or strategies that could affect Cohu SEG’s business.
Create and present technical presentations as required.
Prepare regular forecasts. Prepare and distribute regular reports documenting activities, events and action items.
Take ownership of customer satisfaction score cards and address all issues/problems with the objective of finding solutions and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Prepare timely responses to RFQs and RFIs.
Take the lead in contract negotiations. Obtain input from appropriate functions/individuals at Cohu SEG and develop a strategy and tactics to achieve optimal results.
Take a leadership role in establishing Cohu SEG’s work priorities and schedules.
Define and develop new business opportunities.
Coordinate and host customer meetings and conference calls. Lead or participate, as appropriate, in Equipment User Group meetings.
U.S. and international travel as required.
Education: BS or BA degree preferred.
Experience: Success in working with major or strategic customers (internal or external) in roles in sales, account management, program management or a related area. Experience with back-end semiconductor equipment as a supplier or user, strongly preferred. Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience as noted above. Requires a BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree a plus.
Skills/Technical Requirements: Ability to function successfully in a global company operating in a dynamic environment. Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and negotiating skills. Understands and applies “situational leadership” and has the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management, both at Cohu SEG and with the customer. Strong organizational and problem solving skills. Maintains a sense of urgency and motivates others to achieve objectives. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint presentations.
Principally office environment but will spend time on Cohu SEG manufacturing floors and at customer IC test facilities. Regular travel to customer offices and manufacturing facilities, located mainly in the Western United States and Southeast Asia is required. Travel estimated at up to 25% of time.
