*Starting salary is dependent upon qualifications, but in most cases is no higher than the midpoint for the range.
NATURE OF WORK:
This is skilled technical work repairing and maintaining parking revenue equipment. Work involves repairing, installing, and removing equipment as well as collecting revenue from parking meters and pay stations. The majority of the work occurs in the field and includes adverse weather such as rain, snow, ice, and extreme cold. Employee interacts with the public on a daily basis via online correspondence and in person. Employee may be assigned tasks of similar or higher level classification to gain experience and training. Safety equipment used will be hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, reflective vests, gloves, and ear plugs.

Possession of a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF WORK:
Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and travel to assigned geographical locations.
Ability to walk for extended periods to collect parking meter revenues.
Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, brooms, rakes, crowbars, and paintbrushes. Gasoline or electric power tools can include vacuums, snow blowers, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, weed cutters, jack hammers, drill hammers, acetylene torches, etc.
Must be able to endure work involving dirt, gases, and extreme weather conditions.
Work is performed under the general direction of the Parking Facilities Supervisor. Employee must be able to make mechanical repairs to parking revenue equipment efficiently and account for all money collected from revenue equipment. Assignments can be either verbal or written with the employee responsible for completing the work according to City work rules and safety regulations. Work is reviewed through ongoing observation, meetings, and verbal and written communications. Guidance is provided through rules and regulations, policies and procedures, Unified Work Rules, Union Contract, Personnel Rules and OSHA. Work is evaluated at least annually for the safe and skilled operation of equipment, quality of tasks, adherence to work rules, and performance in accordance with classification standard.
The employee will have contact with the general public while performing collection and repairs to equipment in the field. In addition employee will encounter public contact while fielding online correspondence.
