Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an associate air engineer at a client facility in Houston.  The primary objective for this individual will be to develop air permit applications and other technical/engineering documents for industrial clients in petrochemical, refining, and other industries.  Candidates must have a proven track record of executing and managing environmental services to the private sector. 

Responsibilities:

  • The selected individual will be working as part of the client’s team at a major petrochemical facility in the Houston area and will be managed and supported through the Brown and Caldwell, Houston office. Brown and Caldwell has an extensive, nationwide network of technical resources to support this individual, thus proficiency in communication is essential for success.
  • The optimal candidate must demonstrate experience in completing various Texas air permitting projects, including New Source Review, Title V, Flexible Permits, Standard Permits, and Permit-by-Rule (PBR).
  • The individual will be responsible for gathering and arranging raw data into a workable form, and eliminate discrepancies and improbabilities for the formation of results suitable for review. This involves performing various air pollutant emission calculations, other engineering-related calculations, and analyses of information in the application of the basic design criteria necessary to complete assigned air quality projects.

Position Requirements

  • BS in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering with 3-6 years experience.
  • Qualified candidate should have interest in air quality permitting and air quality regulations related to complex industrial facilities in Texas.
  • Capable of producing high quality products on schedule and within budgets
  • Strong organizational and technical skills required
  • Strong verbal and written (technical writing) communication skills required
  • Candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude, will be flexible and self-motivated, creative and quality-oriented and will possess an attention to detail
  • Must have a proven record of working with existing clients and delivering those projects successfully, profitably, and to the client’s satisfaction
  • Must have a clear driving record
  • Must have the ability to obtain a TWIC card
