Description

The Associated Press is seeking a Technology Associate - Windows Engineering for its Cranbury, NJ location. This position is for 12 weeks beginning in June.

Selected Associate will participate in the support, enhancement and maintenance activities of AP’s Systems Support Group. The position’s key focus is on day to day operations of the Systems support group including assisting tasks such as creating server/desktop builds, troubleshooting RAID configurations, configuring Systems Management Applications like Dell ITA, HP IM, etc. The Technology Associate will be trained in applying patches to operating systems, upgrade drivers, BIOS, firmware, and routine computer system maintenance.

This opportunity is ideal for a student currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in MIS, DSS, Computer Science or any other information technology degree. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. 

Qualifications include:

  • Basic skills to install and configure Windows and support Servers
  • Should know how to trouble shoot basic operating systems on servers
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking and various server services like DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory
  • Good understanding of software engineering process
  • Good Understanding of an Anti-Virus Software and Firewall Policies
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint MS Office programs and documentation
  • Effective analytical, leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
