As members of the WorldStrides family, Heritage Festivals offers only the highest quality performance programs to choral groups, bands, and orchestras. The Heritage Festival Selection Advisor generates new accounts to participate in adjudicated music festivals around the country. These new accounts are generated via contacting High School Band Directors, Orchestra Teachers and Choral Leaders. Approximately 80% of the position involves telephone and face-to-face account selling. Approximately 20% of the position involves planning, organizing and helping to facilitate the festivals.
The Festival Selection Advisor is expected to implement the company's superior selling system to further ensure that WorldStrides' high quality programs are the only choice in educational travel for teachers, administrators, students and parents. Four year bachelor’s degree is preferred. A musical background is preferred. Two years sales experience plus experience managing processes is highly preferred. High level ability to remain focused and self-motivated for months at a time in order to persistently pursue new business. Must be coach-able, goal-oriented, have high energy and have strong management skills. Excellent telephone skills, strong organizational skills, computer skills, strong work ethic and a professional appearance. Ability to work independently, with high intensity, as well as to function within a team. Strong attention to detail and follow up skills.
Must be able to travel and drive an automobile. Able to input data into a computer. Strong verbal communication skills, both in person and through use of the telephone. Heavy lifting required while attending conventions. Ability to visually proof documents.
Utilize in-house resources to research potential new customers.
Contact potential customers by telephone; field incoming inquiries.
a. Describe Heritage Festivals and its services;
b. Recommend specific festival packages;
c. Provide clear and accurate information on prices and inclusions.
Maintain ongoing contact with potential customers by phone and mail.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date computer records and documentation on all customer data, telephone contact, price quotes and written correspondence.
Travel overnight to attend conventions and/ or Festivals.
Participate in calling campaigns and other initiatives.
Assist in the service of sold accounts.
First year Festival Selection Advisors will act as assistants to the Festival Director role during the first year of festivals.
Act as the host Festival Director during the second and subsequent years.
