The Merchant Services Assistant is a member of the Travelzoo Local Deals Service Operations team, responsible for developing strong relationships with our merchant partners and delivering outstanding service during the life cycle of a deal. The Merchant Services Assistant is a primary point person for handling pre- and post-sale inquiries and assuring merchant satisfaction, who also works closely with the Customer Service, Finance, Production and Sales teams to ensure that all operational aspects of the merchant’s run with us is running smoothly. The right candidate is resourceful, a creative problem-solver, and passionate about building and nurturing relationships with clients.
Manage merchant pre- and post-sale enquires regarding sales, payments, contract obligations, and service quality issues
Educate merchants on the use of our sales reporting and voucher redemption tools
Assist merchants with preparation for and provide operational support during the life of their deal
Troubleshoot conflicts and negotiate service solutions on behalf of customers
Run sales and service metric reports, prepare remittance statements and payment summaries
Support development of marketing tools and resources for merchants and customers
Ad-hoc research projects, as assigned
Skills & Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales operations, account management or a finance role
Expert knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel
Excellent communication and problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively across multiple teams in a dynamic, rapidly-changing environment and manage multiple priorities efficiently
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Ability to remain professional and focused when faced with high-pressure situations
Flexibility to respond to changes quickly and thoughtfully
Ability to problem solve and make decisions independently
Ability to multi task and juggle multiple assignments at once
Excellent time management skills and ability to hit deadlines
Bachelor’s degree required
A second language of either German, French or Spanish although not essential is preferable.
