Location:  Ponoka,  Alberta

Derrickhand responsibilities:

Derrickhands report directly to the Driller, they are responsible for monitoring and maintaining proper drilling characteristics and ensuring proper drilling fluid properties

Specific job tasks:

• Assist in all drilling operations as required
• Proper housekeeping
• Provide training and leadership to other crew memebers
• Maintianing pumps and Drilling fluid management
• Responsible for mud system
• Identifying and controlling hazards on the worksite
• Participate in all drills conducted on the rig
• Sedentary duties – help writing JSA’s, review and understand all company manuals, help update manuals, data entry
• Shop work – helping to keep a clean shop, organize and sort tools/parts, assist in purchasing

* Other tasks may be given by your direct supervisor*

Qualifications:

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract
• First Aid, H2S, PST, Fall Protection, Confined Space
• Previous rig experience
• Ability to work in a changing environment
• May be required to work extended hours

We offer CAODC wages.
