DISPATCH CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSISTANT

Location: Calgary, AB

The Dispatch Customer Service Assistant position is an entry level position within the dispatch team working a regular day schedule.  The suitable applicant will be trained and have the ability for upward mobility to a dispatch position and a willingness to work 12 hour shifts, with a 4 on/ 4 off schedule. The Customer Service Manager and Customer Service Coordinator will provide training and ongoing support for the position.

 

      Core Tasks:

 

Ø      Accept incoming orders from customers via phone, fax, EDI and email.

Ø      Gain an understanding of the AS400 environment, customers and commodities

Ø      Build orders for dispatchers

Ø      Track and generate reports in Excel from information gathered from within an AS400 system to measure fleet utilization, loads, and drivers.

Ø      Facilitate communication between terminal and driver by responding to and sending messages via satellite messaging systems.

 

 

Essential Skills:

 

Ø      Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.

Ø      Capable of working with others, or independently, as the situation dictates.

Ø      Possess strong problem solving and decision making abilities.

Ø      Requires good keyboarding skills.

Ø      Strong organizational skills and a desire to work in a fast paced environnment

Ø      Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
