Finance & Controlling Specialist

Working out of our fuel cell production and production technology development plant located in Burnaby, B.C., the person in this role will be responsible for managing, maintaining, controlling and reporting on the effective and efficient operation of the Accounting area including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Inventory, Sales, and General Ledger. The Finance & Controlling Specialist works closely with the Manager of Finance & Controlling and Administration in financial planning, controlling and budgeting, as well as legal aspects of the business unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable: Receive and verify invoices, assign coding to invoices, match purchase orders and packing slips to each invoice. Copy, scan, file and keep record of all invoices.
  • Generate reports for open Accounts Payables and follow-up with vendors to obtain invoices.
  • Accounts Receivable: Receive and verify invoice requests. Copy, scan, file and keep record of all invoices.
  • Ensure local business process support according to corporate Procurement policies and guidelines. Work with suppliers, employees and procurement to ensure proper handling of business processes to source components.
  • Assist managers and staff members in setting up vendors to source goods and services. Maintain internal vendor database.
  • Assistance with financial reports to ensure transparency about financial effects of all business activities.
  • Assist with controlling of expenditures, revenues, investment and inventory.
  • Assist in the planning and budgeting of all financial activities for the Fuel Cell division.
  • Provide a variety of office support services such as creating and maintaining Excel tracking sheets and presentations for various topics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, CGA, CA, CMA
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, Team-player
  • The ability to effectively respond to and meet the needs of a diverse client base
  • Communication skills & excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Preferably some related work experience
  • Preferably the ability to conduct business in both English and German
  • Computer skills: MS Office, SAP
