Search Engine Optimization (SEO/SEM) Analyst

The SEO/SEM Analyst will be responsible for planning, optimizing, implementing and analyzing natural and paid search engine marketing activities. This position is key to future growth and will be responsible for the daily management of our pay-per-click (PPC) and search engine optimization (SEO) strategy development and tactical execution activities.

The ideal candidate must possess a keen understanding of online marketing, ideally in the pharma space, with a strong background in PPC and SEO management. This role requires the ability to operate on both a strategic and tactical level, touching all aspects of the search marketing roadmap including keyword management, creation of campaign messaging, linking strategies, bidding strategies, creative testing, analytics/reporting, and campaign optimization.

Key Functional Areas of Responsibility

  • Perform keyword research in coordination with client business objectives to optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities

  • Provide SEO analysis and recommendations in coordination with elements and structure of websites and web pages

  • Provide recommendations and execute strategies for content development in coordination with SEO goals – general and keyword specific

  • Manage day-to-day search marketing activities across multiple search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN, Bing, etc.) including campaign planning, implementation, budget management, performance review, and optimization of paid search campaigns

    • Responsibilities include keyword research (discovery and expansion), review and editing of creative copy (titles and descriptions), review and analysis of web site performance metrics, and optimization of campaigns

  • Help create and support marketing content to socialize and use for social media purposes

  • Implement link building campaigns in coordination with client SEO goals

  • Assist in development and execution of communication/content strategies via social communities in coordination with SEO goals

  • Keep pace with SEO, search engine, social media and internet marketing industry trends and developments

  • Research and administer social media tools in support of clients’ social media strategy

  • Monitor and administer web analytics dashboards, reports and key reporting tools, and point out key areas of importance in accordance client goals

  • Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across the major search channels

  • Communication to team and management on project development, timelines, and results

  • Work closely with the other team members to meet client goals

Professional Skills & Qualifications

  • Four-year degree is required

  • 2-3 years experience in Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Google Analytics as well as internal reporting tool

  • Experience working with popular keyword tools (Google, WordTracker, Keyword Discovery, etc)

  • Experience working with CMS and building/administering content in CMS environments

  • Desired: Knowledge of HTML/CSS and website administrations
