Corporate Controller

This position will report to the CFO and will act as a valuable resource for the Company’s growth. The Corporate Controller is responsible for the management of the financial control services platform for Codexis. The position is directly responsible for financial accounting, internal and external reporting, as well as international financial consolidation. The position also provides oversight to the development of processes, policies and controls to ensure financial integrity of business reporting and achievement of financial goals.
Responsibilities:

Oversees the daily global operations of the accounting function, including payroll, accounts payable and treasury functions.

Oversees Sarbanes Oxley Compliance

Manages month-end close processes

Interfaces with third party auditors and organizes internal staff to complete and provide all audit information as required

Manages commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms

Oversees financial management of foreign operations and procedures

Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the function’s goals and objectives

Drive key business metrics and analytics that will allow the leadership team to clearly understand outcomes achieved, and provide insightful recomendations to optimize resource allocation

Assist in the creation and analysis of monthly and quarterly results, forecasts and annual operating plan, including preparation and progressive refinement of insightful reporting

Work closely with key business leaders to manage accounting processes, and apprise senior management of opportunities and risks

Participate in key strategic initiatives to help identify revenue enhancement and cost reduction opportunities, and improve internal business processes

Provide accounting support for all the business development opportunities, including acquisitions, partnerships and major customer agreements
Requirements:

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Business, MBA or CPA preferred

7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
-
Public company experience, including SEC reporting.

Experience in FP&A a plus.

Expertise in technical accounting, budgeting, planning and internal controls

Experience as a controller in a manufacturing environment preferred

Ability to comprehend broad business issues and accomplish objectives through others

Leadership skills and analytical decision making

Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in a small team environment as a hands-on, working manager

Must demonstrate ability to coach, guide, develop, and support internal staff in a high-pressure, fast-paced work environment

Expert Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience working and extracting information from various accounting platforms (ERP) also beneficial.
