Your tasks and responsibilities will include bridge load evaluations, bridge design, preparing and reviewing drawings, preparing specifications, conducting analyses and calculations, site surveys, as well as inspecting the work site. More specifically:

Perform bridge load evaluations of various bridges within Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan;

Undertake bridge analysis, design calculations and prepare design sketches and drawings;

Liaise/co-ordinate with other disciplines/departments in preparation of proposals, reports and design packages;

Develop, co-ordinate and monitor work schedules and manpower allocations to ensure objectives of design quality, cost and schedule are attained;
-
Communicate with clients, sub-consultants, approving agencies, etc. for purposes of obtaining design information, presenting design alternatives.
Requirements:

Bachelors’ engineering degree in civil or structural engineering from a recognized accredited university;

Post-graduate degree in civil or structural engineering from a recognized accredited university is an asset;
-
4- 8 years of relevant experience in bridge engineering;

Registered, or be eligible for registration, with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.);

Experience in other structural engineering projects (buildings, dams, municipal infrastructure) an asset;

Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment;

Ability to travel for projects;

Proficient in key bridge/structural design software;

Excellent technical bridge design skills;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Team leading personality with strong people skills;

Strong interest for engineering challenges;
