Senior Application Engineer (Middleware Engineer)

The Senior Application Engineer provides the operational application support required for custom developed applications, and leads the continuous build, test, and deployment processes. The Application Engineer is committed to continuously improving and sharing their technical expertise and improving issue resolution and build processes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the continuous build, test and deploy processes within the IT managed environments
  • Support efficient and effective release practice into controlled environments
  • Work with technical and project leads to review and create deployment plans
  • Respond to incident tickets and alerts providing operational application support over the internet, by phone and via email
  • Accurately log all incident contacts using call Incident Management.
  • Assist in the Incident Management documentation process; research data, proof read, create outlines, drafts, and flowcharts to help resolve client issues
  •  Assist in preparing technical documentation; create Activity summaries and executive summaries
  • Monitor and support web-based applications
  • Act as the point of contact for client users seeking technical assistance for software issues
  • Thoroughly learn Blast Radius’ products and how to support their various versions
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to software code, architectural configuration, user issues, etc
  • Apply best practices and innovative approaches in his/her area of expertise
  • Assist clients remotely with a variety of technology problems
  • Share knowledge through mentoring and coaching team members on the job

 

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of application support and build/release management experience
  • Experience within a professional services environment/digital agency preferred
  • Middleware administration, systems administration, network administration experience
  • An ability to quickly and effectively set and change priorities, as required
  • An ability to interact effectively with non-technical and business users through the use of clear oral and written communication skills
  • Exposure to the Agile development lifecycle
  • An ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it
  • Strong teamwork and analytical problem solving skills
