The purpose of the Production Support Analyst is to provide 3rd tier Linux-specific technical support for Questrade applications. Our applications are mission critical and the Production Support Analyst will support and troubleshoot these operations to minimize downtime and ensure mission success.
What’s it like working as a Production Support Analyst at Questrade?
As a Production Support Analyst, you will provide 3rd tier technical production support for mission critical brokerage applications and databases. You will investigate and troubleshoot incidents in a timely manner, support issue resolutions database, and be involved in configuration and installation of applications. You will work with development, QA and infrastructure teams to understand applications and resolve incidents.

You will conduct timely investigation and troubleshooting of production technical incidents. You will proactively monitor our production systems. During mission critical times, you will provide active shift support to applications, and monitor batch processes. You will work with vendors and multiple business, development and quality assurance groups to understand the issues related to production incidents and quickly and properly resolve them. You will provide timely updates to our Operations groups with regards to the resolution process and time required to resolve an incident, as well as support and maintain an up-to-date issue resolutions database. You will adhere to the consistent incident resolution process and work on its improvement. Further, you will work closely with QA, Development, DBA and System Admin and Network teams to facilitate change management process.

You know Linux like the back of your hand and can troubleshoot your way to the root cause of complex issues. Your technical expertise includes a working knowledge of MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or Sybase database servers, Python scripting, and an understanding of networks, routers, TCP/IP, UDP and multicast protocols. You may even be familiar with SVN source control, Perl, and/or Windows batch scripts. Your investigation, analysis, and problem-solving skills are well-developed, and you are competent in following specific guidelines, criteria and protocols. You remain focused and do not lose sight of the smaller details, even under pressure and when taking on multiple responsibilities. You play well with others and have good time-management abilities that facilitate structured teamwork. You love to learn and demonstrate a commitment to learning Questrade's business. Have experience or a strong personal interest in the financial industry? Even better!
