You will be assigned a wide range of responsibilities, including: oversight of your staff, maintenance of the fleet truck, tracking inventory, and completion of accurate paperwork that will result in successful invoicing. Crew Leads ensure the quality standards of all work performed in each home, which includes combustion safety testing, blower door testing, and proper documentation.

To excel in this role, you must have superior communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Provide direction, support, and training to your crew on an ongoing basis. Serve as the main point of contact and build rapport with customers.

The Crew Lead will participate in all required training sessions and company meetings. The Lead will also assist as requested with planning or process improvements, and undertake other tasks as assigned by Step 2 Field Managers.

The position requires leaving early each morning in a company truck from our Dedham Warehouse, performing both interior and exterior work in all types of weather at residences throughout eastern Massachusetts, and unloading the truck at the end of the day. While a typical work week will not exceed five days, Crew Leads should be available to work weekends (on a rotating schedule).



  • 1 year of experience managing a crew of individuals that provides a service in customers’ homes.
  • A high school diploma or the equivalent is required. College degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Up to 2 years of related experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and responsibility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of residential building science.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Must pass extensive pre-employment national criminal background check and drug screening and have a valid driver’s license with at least three (3) year’s clean driving record
