Business Applications Manager

The Business Applications Manager will be accountable for monitoring and measuring application performance and utilization, and for ensuring the intended business benefits are realized. As the subject matter expert, this position requires technical knowledge of the applications design and implementation along with understanding the optimal deployment for performance and value. This individual will establish procedures for system releases and maintenance processes, serve as liaison with the Information Technology group to resolve issues, and guide development, and participate in cross-functional teams to provide input into application modifications and development of new product features based upon customer/user input, and technology directions. The Business Application Manager will monitor the overall development schedule ensuring timely delivery of software releases and will champion rapid adoption of new application features by conducting demonstrations and producing materials such as, tutorials, release notes, help guides, and FAQ’s. They will participate in user acceptance testing to ensure the delivered product meets the required functionality, user interface, and performance requirements and will collaborate with Business Solutions Managers to agree on functional specifications and operational readiness criteria. In addition they will model and cultivate behaviors that achieve business success, including collaboration, accountability, and ownership.
The successful candidate will achieve service commitments, including sustainable, measurable, accurate, reliable, and timely execution of service deliverables and will operate to high standards and develop new ideas for improving organizational performance. The incumbent will partner with other MedImpact business units to effectively resolve customer issues and inquiries, implement new business, design solutions that meet the mutual needs of MedImpact and our customers, and actively participate as a key member of cross functional workgroups, teams, and committees. As a key player, they will need to promote and engage in continuous improvement by developing and documenting business processes and measuring results, identify and lead the improvement opportunities in assigned work groups and business processes, and seek out and participate in business initiatives that contribute to service excellence. The Business Applications Manager will utilize planning, prioritizing, and organizational skills to effectively manage the assets, tools, and processes necessary to achieve business objectives. They will provide recommendations for the acquisition/development or enhancement of equipment and systems necessary to support the business in an efficient and quality manner. Also they will maintain commitment to goals and objectives in the face of obstacles, and collaborate with internal customers.
For consideration candidates will need a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and four (4) to five (5) years of related experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), Pharmacy, Managed Healthcare or similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and job related experience. Candidates will also need three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Product Manager, or related/applicable role. In addition incumbents should have working knowledge of project management principles and methodologies with previous involvement in high-visibility projects and familiarity with software development processes. It is also desired candidates have experience in contact center systems (IVR/Call recording/Quality management) solutions and or web services.
To perform this job successfully an individual must have strong proficiency with MS Office / Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Outlook to create complex documents, manage schedules, and analyze data along with working knowledge of key business application such as SQL coding, Oracle forms, Golden 32, MedAccess, MedOptimize, SalesForce, and UNIX operating systems. A Pharmacy Technician License or National Certification is desired. Also candidates should have the ability to effectively recognize complex problems and apply analytic and critical thinking skills to innovate solutions, exercise sound judgment and decision-making, and collaborate on cross-functional projects while liaising with stakeholders on both the business and IT divisions of the organization.
This position requires domestic travel of up to 20% of the time.
