Mars Hill Church’s mission is to make disciples and plant churches.  We have grown from a small Bible study to over 12,000 weekly attenders and a network of 14 different churches in 4 states. The Finance department’s mission is to lead through service, via effective stewardship, reporting, and consult.


The position's primary responsibility is to process and distribute Mars Hill Church's financial reports. This person will report to the Controller.


·       Fulfill the duties required of Mars Hill Church members as outlined in the membership covenant.

·       Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in the Scriptures

·       Strong working knowledge of GAAP

·       Works effectively as a team member

·       Ability to work independently, take initiative, and handle multiple priorities

·       Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail

·       Working knowledge of Logos II, Serenic Navigator

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is required

·       Associates or Bachelor Degree

·       CPA preferred

·       3+ years accounting experience

·       Ability to be trustworthy with extremely confidential information



·       Manage month-end close process

·       Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements for the Church and its locations and departments

·       Prepare and review account reconciliations and analyze account balances for accuracy and completeness

·       Assist and prepare necessary schedules for external quarterly and annual audits

·       Prepare weekly, monthly and annual contribution reports

·       Review coding of expenses captured via the Church’s accounts payable and credit card modules

·       Ensure and promote compliance policies, procedures and internal controls

·       Capture analyze and summarize financial data upon request

·       Perform attendance and giving trend analysis

·       Assist Controller with quarterly and annual budget process

·       Some travel may be required

·       Other special project and reports as assigned


Schedule:                Monday – Friday, with some Sunday responsibilities

Hours:                      Exempt, full-time

Location:                 Central Offices | Seattle, WA  

Vacation:                 Two weeks vacation, one week personal, plus one week at Christmas
