This position will work during the Zoo's peak season.
Seeking out-going, energetic individuals to be part of our Admissions Team who can show a real passion for Kansas City and our wonderful Zoo. The right candidate will be able to meet and exceed guest service and membership goals and inspire greater support for our continuing improvements. These seasonal positions run from late February through late October and will give you the opportunity to utilize guest service skills in a unique and fun environment. This candidate is responsible to initiate and complete admissions and membership sales transactions with zoo visitors in a friendly and positive manner, answer all inquiries for zoo information, and provide superior customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Active. Sufficient mobility, vision and hearing are needed to ensure a safe work environment. Job requires high levels of standing, walking, sitting and occasional lifting. Some positions may consist of low physical activity. High level of communication on the phone and in person is required at all times.
Adverse working environment including some indoor climate controlled areas and also in an outdoor environment as well.
Internal: Daily with management and employees
External: Daily with guests and volunteers
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Ability to deal professionally and effectively with all types of people.
Must be able to count change and handle money.
Must be able to operate cash register and other equipment.
Must be 16 years of age or older.
Medium. Hectic environment. Occasional periods of stress.
